Official: Iranian women play crucial role in arts, culture, comprising over 36% of Art Fund members
The CEO of Iran’s Art Credit Fund has stressed on the significant contributions of Iranian women in arts and culture.
Seyed Majid Poorahmadi made the remarks on the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatimah Zahra, the Prophet’s daughter, saying it is rightfully celebrated as Women's Day and Mother's Day on Iran’s national calendar.
He praised Iranian women for following her example and striving for excellence, adding their status in various artistic fields has greatly improved with continuous efforts.
The CEO of Iran’s Art Credit Fund emphasized that since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the growth of educational and cultural centers has facilitated women's participation in the cultural and artistic arenas.
Meanwhile, Poorahmadi mentioned that out of 102,000 fund members, over 37,000 are female artists.
He further said in 2024, more than 510 billion Rials were allocated as essential and entrepreneurial loans to 1,117 female members, along with 220 billion Rials in grants to 710 women.
He also outlined the Fund's programs, which include empowering and strengthening the role of female artists, especially in underprivileged areas, supporting employment and entrepreneurial projects for women, honoring and recognizing talented and elite women in cultural and artistic fields.
