Iran to hold 1st Khusheh Parvin Theater Festival

Iran is set to hold the 1st Khusheh Parvin Theater Festival showcasing works from nearly twenty theater groups directed by women.
Maziar Rezakhani, the festival's secretary, highlighted the event’s significance for improving the state of theater in Iran, particularly for female artists who will be introduced to the national theater community through this event.

Rezakhani stated that the festival would feature two main sections: stage performances and performance art.

The only thematic requirement for participating groups is to present works about women.

The jury for this edition includes renowned figures from theater, expected to use their experience to enhance the festival's quality.

A workshop will also be held one day prior to the closing for sharing experiences by the jury and participating artists.

Rezakhani also mentioned that awards will be presented in eleven categories at the closing ceremony.

He announced that next year's festival will be international, inviting theater professionals from culturally and linguistically related countries.

The event, scheduled to be held from January 5 to 11 in Tehran, is organized by UNESCO, in collaboration with the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and supported by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
